Buffalo Bills Food Drive Sets Record With 70,626 Pounds Donated
The Buffalo Bills Foundation's annual Huddle for Hunger drive collected a record 70,626 pounds of food and raised $205,859 for 20 hunger-relief charities across Western New York.
A week-long food drive organized by the Buffalo Bills Foundation and Wegmans has broken its own record, collecting 70,626 pounds of food and raising $205,859 for hunger-relief charities across Western New York — up from last year's 65,107 pounds.
Where the donations came from
The food came in from multiple sources during Huddle for Hunger Week, held September 20-23: 37,286 pounds from Lactalis, 17,565 pounds collected at a community drive during a Buffalo Bills home game at Highmark Stadium, 10,000 pounds from Wegmans, and smaller contributions from local farms and a companion drive in Rochester.
The money raised came from a $50,000 contribution through Wegmans Meals to Go and $155,859 from a Sunday 50-50 raffle at a Bills game — proceeds split among 20 different charities working on hunger relief in the region.
Players and a Hall of Famer joined in
Members of the Bills' 2026 rookie class helped pack and distribute food, alongside Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas. "Food insecurity is really real here," said Michelle Roberts, the Bills Foundation's VP of Community Impact. "It's a true issue in Western New York."
Local high schools also competed for a game-day attendance prize tied to donation totals, with Orchard Park High School taking first place. All 20 charities set to receive funds serve communities across the Buffalo and Rochester areas.
