Good News Daily reports real, verifiable progress. This page explains how we choose stories, how we check them, how we use AI assistance, and what we do when we get something wrong.
We look for stories with a concrete, checkable outcome: a species recovering, a trial with published results, a project that has delivered water, power or schooling to real people. We don't run stories we can't verify, fundraising appeals presented as news, or promotional claims without independent support. A story is not “good news” to us if the facts behind it don't hold up.
Most of our articles are drafted with the help of an AI writing assistant, working from the sources described above. Every draft is then reviewed, checked against those sources and published by our editor, Diego Callegari. Nothing is published automatically, and the editor is responsible for everything that appears on the site. We use AI to work faster, not to replace verification: if a fact can't be traced to a named source, it doesn't go in.
Header images are licensed stock photographs, credited on each article. We don't use AI-generated images. When no photo of the exact subject is available, we use a related photo and the image description says what it actually shows, so it never pretends to be something it isn't.
We are not paid to cover stories. Organisations we write about have no say over what we publish. If we ever carry sponsored content, it is clearly labelled as sponsored. Advertising does not influence our editorial choices; see our Ad Choices page for how ads work on this site.
We correct mistakes promptly and openly. If you spot an error, email us at info@the-goodnews-daily.com with a link to the article and what you believe is wrong. We check the claim against the source and, if we're wrong, fix the article. Significant corrections, such as a wrong figure, name or source, are noted at the end of the article. When we find a better or more official source for a story, we update the source credit.
For story tips, corrections or other questions, see our contact page. You can read more about who we are on our About page.
